2. Optimized U/V Rim Profile for Aerodynamics and Control

The revised U/V rim profile combines the aerodynamic stability of a U-shape with the streamlined efficiency of a V-shape. The result: reduced air resistance and improved performance in crosswinds. At the same time, the design increases lateral stiffness for more efficient power transfer during sprints and climbs. The smooth transition between tire and rim also provides better handling, more comfort, and high versatility on various surfaces.

3. Expanded 23 mm Internal Rim Width

Thanks to the wider 23 mm internal rim, the wheelset is perfect for wider tires (28–32 mm+). This provides more grip, higher riding comfort, and additional stability – ideal for long-distance rides, allroad use, and modern wide-tire setups.

4. Optimized Hub Design for Maximum Performance

The AERO 40 II now features the new ICAN D91 hub, replacing the previous D01 model. The popular 45T star ratchet technology enables faster engagement, while high-quality S&S steel bearings ensure even greater durability and exceptionally smooth rotation. Additionally, the freehub body has been intelligently optimized: excess material was removed without affecting cassette compatibility. As a result, the complete hub weighs only 280 g. This clever redesign significantly contributes to a lighter and more efficient wheelset.

Equipped with Sapim CX-Ray aero spokes and Sapim Secure Lock nipples, the wheelset offers maximum stability, reliable spoke tension, and long-lasting performance – for a smooth, precise, and stable ride on every outing.
